2024 Wedding Flower Type Trends
As the years go on and the wedding styles evolve so do the floral creations that decorate and adorn them. The artistic floral installations, sprouting flower cakes, and bold bright bouquets of 2024 call for a new breed of flower choices. Bold and bright is the new white! My favourite trending wedding flowers can be narrowed down to these: heart-shaped anthuriums, delicate orchids, hybrid tea roses, brightly coloured carnations and mini gerbera daisies.
Anthuriums are known for their heart-shaped leaves and flowers and are tropical plants that belong to the arum family. These beautiful exotic flowers are supposed to bring luck, keep away evil, and symbolize abundance and happiness. Yay for positive vibes in 2024! They add that modern pop of colour and shine to floral designs and come in a bunch of different colour combinations; red, pink, white and purple being some of the most popular.
Red Anthuriums symbolize love, friendship, lust and sensuality.
Pink Anthuriums symbolize femineity as well as love in it’s purest form.
White Anthuriums signify innocence, pureness and peace.
And last but not least… Purple Anthuriums symbolize royalty and success.
Orchids symbolize everything from luxury and royalty to fertility and beauty. With their intricate blooms, soft and delicate petals and magnificent colours it’s no surprise that they are one of the most popular flowers for weddings in 2024! They help create that exotic and wild feeling that sweeps you right off of your feet with its’ beauty.
Tea Roses are another one of my trending favs for 2024. They represent love, appreciation, and gratitude between a couple. They’re also considered to be the embodiment of femininity, grace, and elegance. Their tenderness helps to create that soft romantic feel in bouquets and is one of my favourites to use in corsages and boutonnières. Perfect for the dreamy romantic creations of 2024.
Carnations boast a wide range of symbolic meanings including purity, devotion, and divine love just to name a few. Carnations have been a wedding floral staple since the 80s although when used in a modern way they provide bright pops of colour in arrangements and bouquets giving them that extra wow factor! They come in a large variety of different shades which makes them super popular for the big bold colourful trends of 2024.
Mini gerbera daisies symbolize diversity, cheerfulness, and positivity just like the sunshine of life. A favourite of birds and butterflies they’re known for their radiant petals and captivating hues which also makes them a favourite for those enchanted whimsical weddings of 2024. You’ll see their brightly coloured flat heads sticking up above the rest creating an airy light feeling among wedding floral décor.
